Burna AI connects to Epic and Oracle Health (formerly Cerner) through SMART on FHIR, and to other FHIR R4 EHRs on request. SMART on FHIR is the standard way a clinical application reads from an EHR under the clinician's own authorization. The platform carries Epic's and Oracle Health's published FHIR endpoint directories, so an organization selects its own endpoint. Encounters and notes come in from the EHR for grading. In the other direction, a signed CTCAE grading summary is filed back to Oracle Health as a document in the chart and confirmed by reading it back; filing into Epic needs site-specific approval through Epic's Vendor Services before it can be enabled. Where there is no FHIR connection, including systems such as ARIA, notes come in by paste, upload or recording. A typical EHR integration is measured in weeks, and standalone capture works from day one while IT review proceeds.
